CASSAVA FLAKES (GARRI)
Cassava flakes popularly known as Garri is a popular cereal and one of the staple foods in Nigeria which comes in powdered form but not smooth. it is originated from the south America and became popular in Nigeria in the 19th century. it is the most commercialized cassava product in Ghana.
It is a granola flour that is gotten by processing the starchy tuberous roots of freshly harvested cassava, it is one of the most affordable and popular food in Nigeria
WAYS OF SERVING
Garri comes in two which are white Garri and yellow Garri can be served in two ways, which are drinking Garri and eba respectively
Drinking Garri is simply taken with just water and sugar sometimes with milk, groundnut or kuli kuli, depending on one's choice. sometimes, Garri is not taken as food but as an in between meal.
While
Yellow Garri is a type of Garri that has been coated with palm oil and dried. this is usually used to make a meal named eba using just hot water and best taken with vegetables and good for the aged.

Garri has many food nutrients which may include vitamin c, magnesium, copper and contains high percentage of fiber and carbohydrate. the health benefits may include.
- Aids smooth digestion of food; although Garri is a starchy food, but it is also low in calories and with high fiber contents that will help you stay full for a longer period, hence, reducing the urge to always eat in large quantities. Garri helps to absorb toxins that go into your intestines which helps improved your digestive health.
